OMCA
OMCA is looking for representatives from member companies to help on the Development Committee. The Development Committee works to raise funds for the Development Fund through events such as Silent Auction and Party With A Purpose (taking place at the annual marketplace). Funds raised are then allocated in various ways to promote and support our industry. In the past, the Development Fund has supported scholarships, internships and helping to provide funding for students that cannot afford to attend school trips. If you are interested or know someone perfect for the job, please contact mardi@omca.com.

Government of Ontario
By increasing speed limits beyond 100km/h (to 110km/h) the threshold for the application of Ontario's current street racing law — which currently applies to drivers who travel 50km/h over the posted limit — would increase on these roads accordingly to 160km/h. To accommodate raised speed limits while effectively deterring excessive speeding at pilot locations, the ministry is thus proposing to amend the current definition of "stunt" under Highway Traffic Act (HTA) Regulation 455/07 to include driving a motor vehicle at or above 150 kilometers per hour throughout the province.

A new Canadian tourism strategy is meant to help boost international visits to Canada during non-peak seasons by more than a million people and get visitors to see the country beyond Canada's biggest cities.
The plan, unveiled in Montreal, includes $58.5 million over two years to help communities create or improve tourism facilities and experiences.
The funding is supposed to back experiences that show off Canada's strengths — and break visitors' fixation on just a few destinations in the nicest weather.
