On June 23, Ontario's Ministry of Transportation announced changes to high occupancy vehicle lanes taking effect Sept. 15, 2016. The changes are part of a pilot aimed to improve travel options in Ontario. Under the pilot, a section of the QEW will be designated as high occupancy toll lanes (HOT), meaning traffic travelling between Trafalgar Road in Oakville and Guelph Line in Burlington using the HOT lanes will be required to pay fees. This change will not apply to vehicles with more than one occupant, meaning there is no change to the high occupancy lanes for motor coaches. The pilot simply allows single occupant vehicles to purchase a permit to use the lane at a cost of $180 for three months.

Choosing the world's best tourism websites is more difficult in 2016 than it was the last time we picked our favorites in late 2013, but that's not because there are so many better online experiences today in the destination marketing world.
