Tourism HR Canada
In June 2019, the unemployment rate in the tourism sector was at 4.8 per cent, which is 0.3 percentage points higher than the rate reported in June 2018, but lower than the previous month (May 2019), when the unemployment rate stood at 5.4 per cent.
At 4.8 per cent, tourism’s unemployment rate was below Canada’s seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.2 per cent.

The Ontario government has injected some life back into TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, after the event had been denied a Celebrate Ontario Funding grant.
Celebrate Ontario funding was used to provided $13 million to more than 250 festivals across the province. It's money that the jazz festival has counted on for the last 13 years, but this year the festival learned it would not be receiving the money just three-weeks before the 2019 event was set to kick off.

Questions remain over why two school buses carrying children attending a Brossard day camp burst into flames following a car accident on a highway near St-Eustache.
According to Andre Southiere, owner of school bus company Autobus Rive-Sud, while there had been speculation the fire had been caused by a propane fuel tank, investigators believe it may have been due to an electrical problem with one of the buses’ alternators.

The National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) has invited Motor Coach Industries’ D45 CRT LE transit coach to join the council’s rally and march to Washington, D.C, which is part of its July 22-25 Annual Conference on Independent Living.
The 1.5-mile march draws more than 1,000 people with disabilities, disability advocates and allies, members of Congress, and government officials.

The Ontario government is starting construction for two rail tunnels under Highway 401 and Highway 409 to make way for added GO train service along the Kitchener corridor.
The tunnels are approximately 175 metres long and are being built under 21 live lanes on both highways. They are meant to accommodate additional tracks and signaling.
