Travel sector most likely to see subscription growth

Among subscription sectors, travel is the most likely to see subscription growth from both existing and new members over the next 12 months, a new report finds.
According to a study by eDreams ODIGEO and OnePoll, which surveyed more than 10,000 shoppers in eight markets in North America and Europe, 90% of current travel subscribers say they would maintain or increase spending on those services over the next 12 months.

Passport delays spur some Canadians to game the system with fake travel plans

Local chamber part of group asking feds to 'scrap the app'

The local chamber of commerce is part of a coalition of Ontario chambers asking the federal government to scrap the ArriveCan app, saying that it discourages tourism. “There are some chambers across the country who are looking at different alternatives but here we are saying that we need to lose the app. It really is a deterrent for American tourists either to fly or drive,” Karen Cross, CEO of the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, said Wednesday. “The border crossing delays are ridiculous.”

Distracted driving responsible for nearly 20 per cent of Hamilton collisions

The City of Hamilton’s recently released 2021 Annual Collision Report indicates that distracted driving was a contributing factor in 19.1 per cent of fatal and injury collisions between 2017-2021. Distracted driving is a concerning trend and has become the leading cause of death on Ontario roads, ranking 15.2 per cent higher than impairment.
