Shortly after three-and-a-half year old Zaiden was dropped off at the wrong bus stop and had to turn to a stranger for help, his distraught parents are raising concerns over the experience of school bus drivers on our roads.
CityNews has confirmed the driver in question was taken off the job for retraining but Sharp Bus Lines, the company involved, would not say for how long. However, Carlos Oberoi, the toddler's father, claims he was told by bus company employee that the driver was suspended for just one day and was then put on a new route.

Efforts to roll out Presto fare-card readers on the TTC's bus fleet are being hampered by the devices malfunctioning in high numbers, the Star has learned.
Since May, the TTC has been outfitting its buses with the readers, which allow customers to pay their fare with a tap of a prepaid card. So far, about two-thirds of the transit commission's 1,900 buses have the devices.

The city of Clarington is among a growing number of municipalities adding two-lane roundabouts to their city streets.
"The biggest reason for the roundabouts is safety," Ron Albright, Clarington's assistant director of engineering services, explained.

Barrie residents and commuters are seeing changes on Highway 400 through Barrie and south of the city, and more changes are on the way.
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is partnering with the City of Barrie on the bridge replacement at Highway 400 and McKay Road to ensure provincial and municipal long-term needs are met, according to MTO spokeswoman Astrid Poei.

Entering Mimico station is a particular challenge for Porter, requiring her to pass through a tunnel and traverse sets of steep stairs to access the train platform. Ontario Provincial Police say this year, for the first time since distracted driving laws were introduced in Ontario in 2009, the number of deaths related to distracted driving are set to far exceed the number of deaths related to impaired driving.
As of mid-August, the OPP had investigated 38 deaths related to inattentive drivers — double the 19 deaths involving an impaired driver.
