OMCA President Calls for Support
OMCA
Last week the Federal government announced new targeted support measures for businesses that are facing significant revenue challenges. The Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program and the Hardest Hit Business Recovery Program will provide extended subsidies into the spring of 2022 for our hardest hit members. We were happy to see these support programs announced, but still have many outstanding questions.
The association is now looking to clarify if Motor Coach members are eligible under the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program and are pushing hard for this to be the case, as the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program offers a deeper level of support for our members.
Since we need to apply immediate advocacy pressure, the association launched two industry campaigns. The first is for all motor coach businesses and the second for supporting partners. We are asking each of you to use our letter generating tool to send a letter to your local MP, the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and Minister of Finance, the Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, the Minister of Transportation and the new Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance. We are asking for their urgent support to help ensure that Motor Coach businesses are eligible for the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program.
It only takes 30 seconds to visit our website and type your address and select it from the dropdown menu to find your local MP. Then add your Name, Company, and Title in the remaining fields and click Send Letter at the bottom of the page.
Motor Coach Businesses and your Employees can send your letter here– Click here to send your letter.
Supporting business and your employees can click here to send your letters.

OMCA Marketplace Starts Monday!
OMCA
We are mere hours away from the Marketplace 2021 and we are so grateful to all of the members who will be participating, and of course, to all of our sponsors that made both the 2D and 3D events possible! This year’s hybrid event will be another new experience for us and we cannot wait to some of our members face-to-face, and for our members to be able to reconnect and rebuild their businesses together. We’ll see you next week, OMCA delegates!
