Tourisme Montréal's latest statistics confirm that the city enjoyed a strong summer for tourism in 2019. International tourist numbers increased five per cent compared with 2018. More specifically, the city attracted 20 per cent more visitors from Mexico, 14 per cent more from Germany and 10 per cent more from France. Meanwhile, the number of American tourists entering Québec grew three per cent. The influx of visitors is supported by the 90 direct flights connecting Montréal to international destinations.

School bus operators in Waterloo Region are reviewing safety around railroad crossings following an incident in Cambridge.
A video posted to Reddit shows a full-size Voyago bus, with students on board, stopped close to the tracks. The crossing's warning lights are activated and the crossing arm has come down on the roof of the bus as a slow-moving freight train passes just in front. No contact was made between the train and the bus.
