Message from the OMCA President
OMCA
Last week the association launched two industry government advocacy campaigns. The first was for all motor coach businesses and the second for supporting partners, both asking the Federal government to ensure that Motor Coach members are eligible under the newly announced Tourism and Hospitality Recovery subsidy program. To- date we have had nearly 250 letter of support sent local MP, the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and Minister of Finance, the Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, the Minister of Transportation and the new Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance using our letter generating tool on our website.
If you sent a letter, thank you. If you asked your employees to send a letter, thank you. If you asked supporting businesses to send a letter, once again thank you. For those reading this and have not sent a letter or asked your employees or supporting businesses to help, please do so now! It only takes 30 seconds to visit our website and type your address and select it from the dropdown menu to find your local MP. Then add your Name, Company, and Title in the remaining fields and click Send Letter at the bottom of the page.
Motor Coach Businesses and their employees can Click here to send your letter.
Supporting business and their employees can click here to send your letters.
In addition to the 250 letters sent in these campaigns, we have had direct collaboration with all the all the Provincial and Territorial Tourism Industry Associations, the Cruise and Passenger Vessel Industry, Chambers of Commerce and other supporting Tourism associations across Canada. All of them have joined our call for urgent support to help ensure that Motor Coach businesses are eligible for the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program. Our pressure is working and we are raising awareness of this issue. Thanks again for your grassroots advocacy and for helping our association in this important effort.
