Ontario, along with Metrolinx and the Regional Municipality of York, recently announced the start of York Viva Bus Rapid Transit service along Davis Drive as well as the opening of a new park and ride facility at Davis Drive and Highway 404 in the Town of Newmarket.
The Davis Drive rapidway project is part of the York Viva bus rapid transit project, which represents a $1.4 billion investment from Ontario.

Mayor John Tory says he believes Torontonians will accept a "modest" tax increase as long as they're confident the money is going "exclusively to building a bigger and better city."
Tory proposed an annual "city building" tax of 0.5 per cent added to property tax bills, dedicated to paying for transit and social housing infrastructure. He said it would be a clearly identified charge, start in 2017 and add about $13 to the average property tax bill of $2,654.50.

Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca is pledging to ensure the province is testing tractor-trailer drivers "to the highest possible standards" following a Star investigation into passing rates at DriveTest Centres in Ontario.
The Star recently revealed that between 2010 and 2014, drivers seeking their class A licence — needed to operate a tractor-trailer — have a better chance of passing their road tests at most DriveTest Centres in smaller communities than on busier and more challenging roads in Toronto.
