OMCA is working with Transport Canada and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute for Bus and Truck Safety to explore the use and effectiveness of “distracted driving” education and training. We are asking members to take a few minutes to participate in a survey to help gather pertinent information that will be used to assist Transport Canada in creating and offering free distracted driver training.
The survey is brief (~10 minutes or less to complete) and all information obtained will be confidential.
This survey is being conducted by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). To participate, you must be employed as an operator domiciled in Canada. The survey will remain active until January 15, 2020. You may withdraw from the survey at any time and for any reason by closing your internet browser — your responses will not be recorded.

A woman who says she was the victim of sex trafficking in 2012 and 2013 at multiple hotels in Oregon and Washington is suing six major hotel chains in federal court, saying they neglected trafficking happening "openly on hotel properties" and failed to intervene "to continue earning a profit."
"Rather than taking timely and effective measures to thwart this epidemic," the suit said, "defendant hotels have instead chosen to ignore the open and obvious presence of sex trafficking on their properties, enjoying the profit from rooms rented for this explicit and apparent purpose."

The Town of Lincoln’s approach to tourism is undergoing a complete overhaul.
An interim report to the town’s general business and finance committee gave a glimpse into the vision the town has for tourism in the area and the municipality’s role in the sector. And it’s promoting increased private sector engagement, support from neighbouring communities and a municipal focus on marketing while leaving event planning, more or less, to the private sector.
