Due to some turmoil within the United States Government regarding funding agreements, there stands the possibility of a partial government shutdown. In the event of such a shutdown, U.S. government operated tourist attractions may not be accessible.
During a partial shutdown:
- Essential personnel will be working – law enforcement, safety, e.g.
- Gates will be open – there will be no barriers to entry; hiking trails will be open
- Buildings will be locked, which will include restrooms in most places
- No events, exhibits or special programs will happen
OMCA will send operator members an update on the outcome as it becomes available.

Families have been waiting a long time for stricter safety standards that help boost safety every single time a minor is travelling on a party bus," Transportation minister Claire Trevena said. Parliament is on the cusp of approving new powers for the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) to allow them to collect information about people and items leaving Canada and share that data with other federal departments.
Legislation in question, called Bill C21, would amend the Customs Act to allow the CBSA to collect personal information from people leaving Canada such as their name, age, sex, citizenship, date of birth, as well as the time and date of their arrival in the United States.
