The Professional Instructor in Driver Education (P.R.I.D.E) RECERTIFICATION Programs are now available to any "Signing Authority" (as designated by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation Driver Certification Program (DCP) or any previous graduate of the regular, five-day P.R.I.D.E. Certification Program.
Designed to reinforce Signing Authority instructor skills and adult education competencies and principles, this one-day program will provide recertification for the MTO Signing Authority designation and refresh previous P.R.I.D.E. Program methodologies. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (Ontario Northland) and Unifor Local 103 recently announced that the collective agreement for all five bargaining units has been ratified. Members voted 88 per cent in favour of the agreement.

Ed Dowling, a Mississauga transit pioneer and the municipality's first director of transit, recently died from cancer.
He was 76.
Bill Cunningham, who succeeded Dowling as the municipality's transit director after Dowling retired in 1998, regarded his former boss as not only a colleague but a friend. He noted that Dowling brought in a number of innovations that are staples of the transit system these days.

The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization's "Welcome to Nowhere" promotional campaign for the regional tourism area encompassing Haliburton County, Hastings and municipalities throughout the Ottawa Valley was a success, according to OHTO's executive director. The campaign, aimed at urban audiences tired of the congested hustle and bustle of city living, promoted the idea of escaping to "nowhere," and encouraged using the hashtag #NowhereMoment on Twitter to promote experiences enjoyed in the Haliburton Highlands and other areas that comprise OHTO.

Ontario and the Town of Whitby have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to help address the town's interest in creating a traffic by-pass around the Village of Brooklin.
The purpose of the MOU is to capture the town's request to work towards transferring a section of King's Highway 7/12 through Brooklin — from Highway 7/Winchester Road Junction to Brawley Road — from the province to the municipality.
