With the summer travel season all but in full swing, and after a U.S. Supreme Court decision upheld President Donald Trump's travel ban, Canadians travelling to the U.S. are being advised that U.S. border agents have the right to demand the passwords of those travellers to search phones and other devices such as laptops without a specific reason.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, this power is a necessary one to assist in the "global fight against terror and child pornography."

After losing its licence in Quebec, Sinorama Holidays travel agency has ended its operations in Ontario.
The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) says Sinorama was placed under trusteeship on July 24 after an $11 million shortfall and voluntarily ceased its activities in Ontario on August 8, terminating its Ontario Travel Industry Act, 2002 registration.
The Markham-based travel agency, which was well known, specialized in small group tours to China.
