'Let’s Talk Transportation’ Initiative to Introduce New Regulations

The Government of Canada is conducting consultations for Let's Talk Transportation initiative, which identifies new measures that will be introduced into regulation aimed at safety technologies. There will be informal consultations as part of the pre-regulatory process. Please read the background documents available through the web links included, and provide your feedback to the questions included in each consultation and background document. These consultations will be open for comments until September 30th, 2020.

The WTTC in conjunction with the industry, including TIAO, has created a self-certified Safe Travel Stamp based on worldwide industry protocols the WTTC has put together for every aspect of the hospitality and tourism sector. The specially designed stamp will allow travellers to recognise governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols — so consumers can experience 'Safe Travels'. Eligible companies such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, attractions, short term rentals, car rentals, outdoor shopping, transportation and airports, will be able to use the stamp once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented.

Canada to keep border with US closed until at least Oct. 21, says source

The federal government will extend the Canada-U.S. land border closure for another 30 days until Oct. 21, CBC News has learned. A source with direct knowledge of the situation, who spoke to CBC on the condition they not be named, said Canadians should expect the possibility the border will remain closed for longer.

Mississauga could extend restrictions on bars and restaurants until 2021

WTM London Senior Director Simon Press said, "Sadly, this year will be the first time since we launched WTM London in 1980 that there will be no live event." Transport Minister Marc Garneau says Canada's largest airlines have agreed to a new set of rules to help contact-tracing efforts, should a passenger test positive for COVID-19.
