International Code Council cloud-based voting now open
National Assocation of Home Builders
The online voting system cdpACCESS, used by the ICC for code development, opened last Thursday, May 14. It has been opened on assembly floor motions from the 2015 Group A Committee Action Hearings last month. Voting on the floor motions is open to ALL ICC members, not just government agencies. Eligible members: be sure to cast your votes!

Survey: More millennials renting, but just as many want to own

Pittsburgh real estate market improving

Pittsburgh's residential home buying market is steadily improving, according to West Penn Multi-List, which reported a solid supply of housing inventory in the first quarter and more home buyers entering the market as better access to credit has made it easier to obtain mortgages. "On average, more people are employed and making more money than they were at this time last year," said Tom Hosack, president of the West Penn Multi-List, and president and CEO of Northwood Realty Services in McCandless.

OSHA revises app to help workers avoid heat illness

As temperatures increase, OSHA is placing potentially lifesaving information at outdoor workers' fingertips. The agency has updated its Heat Safety Tool phone application, which is available for download on iOS and Android devices in English and Spanish. Workers can use the app to calculate the heat index at their worksite and determine heat illness risk levels.
