Don't forget — leadership nominations due June 5!

In accordance with the bylaws of PBA, the board shall accept nominations for multiple leadership positions until June 5 and on the floor at the July board meeting. Should no other nominations be received, Jim Brown will be named President-elect of PBA. Any member who wishes to make a nomination for a leadership position should email Mary Ann Sesler no later than June 5.

New home closing rules take effect this August

Closing on your new home is an exciting time — but it also can be an overwhelming process. Fortunately, it's about to get easier. Under new rules required by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, four closing documents will be merged into two new documents: the Loan Estimate and the Closing Disclosure form. The design of the forms and their terminology will be more consumer-friendly to help home owners better understand this complex process.

Good news for home builders and maybe for the economy as a whole: Sales of new homes increased nearly 7 percent in April to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 517,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
