HanesBrand to make new acquisitions a priority following Maidenform purchase
Promo Marketing
Apparel basics manufacturer HanesBrands, Winston-Salem, N.C., is in the market for new companies to acquire in order to sustain its growth. "It is time to turn our attention to the next priority: acquisitions," Richard Noll, CEO of HanesBrands, said on a recent investors' call. The company best known for its line of T-shirts saw net sales for the year increase 2 percent to $4.63 billion in 2013, with a 12 percent increase in the fourth quarter attributed in part to HanesBrands' acquisition of Maidenform, which was completed in October for $583 million.

During the earnings call on Feb. 27, Quadracci told analysts that the 6 percent U.S. Postal Service increase that went into effect on Jan. 26 included a 4.3 percent emergency increase.

If you want loyal customers, find your 'Inverted Jenny' first
Forbes
Late last year, the U.S. Postal Service recreated one of their most famous failures: a 1918 blunder on a sheet of stamps, any one of which is worth a fortune today. While in production, a sheet of stamps was flipped, inverting the image of the “Jenny” biplane, making them a sought-after rarity for collectors. In 2013, the U.S. Postal Service celebrated its old mistake with a new “Inverted Jenny” campaign. Organizations like the USPS are finding creative ways to connect with their customers using two key ideas: the principles of scarcity and exclusivity

Buckyballs vs. The United States of America
Inc.
"We coulda been a Lego! We coulda been a Rubik's Cube!" Instead, Craig Zucker is in a shared workspace in Brooklyn, N.Y., hanging on. It's like a bad dream: He's no longer selling Buckyballs — the tiny magnetic desk toys that did $40 million in sales in just four years. Instead, the 34-year-old is selling Liberty Balls, chestnut-size magnets that are weaker, lamer, and much less lucrative.

Behold: A business card that plays Tetris
Kotaku
Lots of people have business cards, but most cards are unfortunately kind of forgettable. Not this business card, though — this one is more likely to be a time sink, thanks to the playable Tetris it features. The card belongs to Kevin Bateske, and it can be played for up to ten hours. He used an Arduino board and an OLED display, and he's hoping to raise money to sell cards with similar interactive capacities according to his website.
