Pittsburgh to pay $75,000 in student's beating case, lawsuit against officers proceeding

The Pittsburgh City Council has approved a $75,000 partial settlement with a former black high school arts student who says he was beaten by three white undercover officers. Jordan Miles is still suing the officers who arrested him in January 2010, but the partial settlement releases city officials from liability. However, Miles' attorney, J. Kerrington Lewis, says the city has agreed to pay any future judgments against the officers. More
