California mayor worried about safety after brick incident

Mayor Gary Monahan, of Costa Mesa, Calif., has spoken with the interim chief of police about his security after an incident in which someone tossed a brick with a note through a window of the mayor's bar, city officials said. Authorities would not disclose whether security was increased at the mayor's home and bar since the early Saturday morning incident, but Bill Lobdell, a spokesman hired by the city, said, "Appropriate measures have been taken."
