Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR) project took an important step forward as the Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (AMT) departed Seville, Spain, to travel to Canada.
This specific aircraft — a training variant of the CC-295 — is being flown by an Airbus Defence and Space flight crew as it makes its way to its new home in the soon-to-be search and rescue (SAR) training centre at 19 Wing, Comox, B.C.

The plane and crew are to transport fire retardant from the U.S., free up Australian airlift capacity and take images of fires from the air to measure them and predict how they might spread.

Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak recently said that Poland “will finalize the deal on the purchase of F-35” Lightning II fighter jets.
The negotiations to buy 32 aircraft from the U.S. “are almost complete” and “the first units will be ready [for delivery] in 2024,” Blaszczak told local broadcaster Polish Radio.

A Canadian Army member has gone missing, according to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Kingston.
Military police and over 250 Canadian Armed Forces members were sent out in the city of Kingston to look for Pte. Michal Beaman, 22, who was last seen in Kingston on Friday night at The Spot Nightclub on Division Street.
