The Royal Canadian Air Force is getting creative about finding new pilots.
Commercial airlines across Canada have been temporarily laying off pilots in recent weeks as the industry struggles with plummeting demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now the Air Force is hoping to snatch up some of those pilots to address its own shortage of experienced aviators.

The Canadian Forces is hoping to purchase what it is calling an aeromedical bio-containment evacuation system that can be outfitted on its C-17 or C-130J aircraft.
The equipment, also known as ABES, will be capable of transporting highly infectious disease patients on the aircraft.

The Royal Canadian Air Force, and CFB Trenton could be getting new equipment in the battle against COVID-19.
According to the Ottawa Citizen, the RCAF is hoping to purchase an aeromedical bio-containment evacuation system.
The equipment can be outfitted to go on a Hercules or Globemaster aircraft, and is destined for 8-Wing by the end of October (estimate).

Under a U.S. Air Force small business innovation contract, a team of space startups is working on a concept to collect and analyze information about objects and activities in cislunar space near the moon.
“This is a Phase 1 study to investigate intelligence gathering as it pertains to the lunar domain,” Nathan Parrott, director of Saber Astronautics USA, told SpaceNews.
