The national Quilts of Valour program has a network of quilters across Canada, working with fabric, designing quilt blocks and patterns, and layering together the colourful tops, warm lining and backing that make up the quilts, each quilt different from the others.

Chacune des coutures des courtepointes créées dans le cadre du programme national « Les courtepointes de vaillance » rend hommage au service et à l’esprit de sacrifice d’un militaire des Forces armées canadiennes (FAC), ancien ou actuel, qui pourrait avoir besoin d’un peu de confort douillet.
Le programme dispose d’un réseau de fabricantes de courtepointes d’un bout à l’autre du Canada qui travaillent avec les tissus, conçoivent les carrés et les motifs, puis juxtaposent les dessus colorés, les chaudes doublures et les dessous afin de créer des courtepointes, toutes différentes les unes des autres.

On June 10, Lt.-Gen. Al Meinzinger, the commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, sent out a message to all personnel outlining several new initiatives intended to address the military’s chronic shortage of experienced pilots and ground crew.
As of last fall, the RCAF was short at least 275 pilots, and the auditor general report claimed that due to the shortage of qualified personnel, Canada was unable to fully operate its current fleet of CF-18 Hornet fighter jets.

Britain’s Royal Air Force said Monday that two of its jets deployed in Estonia have been scrambled twice in recent days to intercept Russian aircraft.
The RAF said the incidents brought the number of intercepts of Russian planes to eight since taking over the Baltic Air Policing mission in May.
