Carrying on a proud and unique tradition among graduation ceremonies in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Air Force's six newest search and rescue (SAR) technicians parachuted into 19 Wing Comox, B.C., for their graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony marked the end of 11 months of intense training.

Air Cadets from across British Columbia will be gliding in the skies above 19 Wing, CFB Comox this summer. This training, part of the Regional Gliding School Pacific's glider and power pilot courses, is designed to give teenagers the skills to become Transport Canada-licensed glider pilots.
Body of helicopter pilot recovered following crash

The body of a pilot who was flying a helicopter that crashed near Manitoba has been recovered. The 69-year-old Surrey, B.C., man was flying the Bell 206 helicopter when it went down in a remote area about 50 kilometres west of Gull Lake. The aircraft was reported as overdue earlier in the day and a search operation was launched with the help of a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130 from 17 Wing Winnipeg.

Royal Canadian Air Force jets will streak across the arctic sky on Tuesday, part of celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the agreement that created Nunavut, a northern territory home to about 30,000 native Inuit people.
It was the largest indigenous land claim in Canada's history covering two million square kilometres, or about eight times the size of the United Kingdom.
