Nine Avro Arrow free-flight models that were launched in a series of tests from 1954 to 1957 rest on the bottom of Lake Ontario. Earlier this summer, OEX Recovery Group Incorporated (OEX), which is financially supported by a group of Canadian mining companies and financial institutions, announced the search for and recovery of these models. The project is called "Raise the Arrow."

Lockheed Martin's Indago quadrotor drone is to be paired with a Danish system to detect and identify unmanned aerial system aircraft and their pilots, the companies involved announced recently.
The counter-UAS system is the KNOX by MyDefense Communications and is being jointly developed under a new agreement between the companies.

General Atomics's MQ-9B SkyGuardian UAV has flown through U.S. national airspace.
The drone flew 275 miles on a one-hour, 45-minute flight from Laguna Airfield at Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ, to the company's Gray Butte flight operations facility near Palmdale, CA. The flight required FAA approval to fly through various classes of non-restricted airspace, according to a General Atomics news release.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, in collaboration with the Royal Military College, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is honoured to present the Birchall Leadership Award to Colonel (Retired) Chris Hadfield, OC, OOnt, MSC, CD. Colonel Hadfield was the first Canadian to walk in space. A Royal Military College graduate, an engineer, and former Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) fighter pilot, Colonel Hadfield has flown two space shuttle missions and served as Commander of the International Space Station.
