Comox Valley Record
The head of the Royal Canadian Air Force declared to the press that the training centre for the future fixed wing search-and-rescue aircraft will be located in Comox.
Lt.-Gen Mike Hood stated this news when he met with the editorial board of The Vancouver Sun and The Province.

"My vision of the program (is to have the senior cadets) helping and shaping the juniors, with the juniors becoming seniors (and eventually) our leaders of tomorrow," Henning said. "The adults are here to support them, but really, it's their squadron."

Photos have emerged that apparently show Canadian special forces soldiers near front-line action in northern Iraq, even as Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan stays mum about their involvement in the ongoing offensive against Daesh extremists.
One photo shows Canadians in what appear to be heavily-armed Humvees. Another shows soldiers setting up a heavy anti-armour weapon atop an armoured vehicle, a Canadian flag is clearly visible on the uniform of one of them.
