RVDA convention sales track boasts new speakers,
current topics

Thirteen new speakers have been confirmed for the 2013 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, five of them in the sales track alone. Sales professionals can spend two days learning how to use new technology, reach consumers who increasingly rely on digital advertising, build solid relationships with consumers, and close sales on the showroom floor. There will also be information about recent trends and best practices in sales, including a rundown of what works today — and what doesn't. Registration is now underway for the convention, which takes place Sept. 30-Oct. 4 in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.More

RV shipments keep rising in May

The rise continues for RV shipments. For 17 consecutive months, shipments from factories to dealers have been up compared with the same month a year prior. RVIA recently reported that May shipments of all RVs hit 32,539 units, an 11.9 percent increase compared with May 2012. Through the first five months of this year, total RV shipments have reached 144,015 units, up 13 percent compared with the same period last year.More

Analysts see steady growth for RV industry

Lawmakers seek information from CFPB on vehicle lending guidance

Republican lawmakers are calling on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to explain its rationale behind new guidance issued to lenders. RVDA and its allies, including NADA, also question the need for changes to the dealer-arranged financing model that saves customers time and provides competitive rates. House Republicans, including 27 members of the Financial Services Committee, recently sent a letter to the bureau expressing concern about the intent and methodology of the guidelines. More
