Thor Industries is Silver Partner for RV Dealers International Convention/Expo
RVDA is pleased to announce that Thor Industries, Inc. is the Silver Level Partner for the 2013 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, Sept. 30-Oct. 4 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. AAA: Labor Day travel to be highest since 2008 crisis
More people will travel in the United States this Labor Day holiday than on any of the September breaks since the 2008 financial crisis, U.S. travel group AAA said. An analysis of Statistical Surveys, Inc., retail recreational vehicle sales data for the first half of 2013 shows the two Elkhart-based RV giants are so close it's almost unbelievable, according to a story by Sherman Goldenberg, publisher of Elkhart-based industry publication RV Business. Goldenberg's story shows that Thor and Forest River were nine towable units and 22 motorized units apart for the first half of the year.More

Thor acquires RV maker Livin' Lite

Thor Industries has acquired RV maker Livin' Lite through a wholly-owned subsidiary. The purchase is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30. Thor expects to offer Livin' Lite's current 35 models to its current dealer network upon closing of the transaction. The company expects Livin' Lite will continue to operate out of its existing Wakarusa facilities with minimal disruption to its current business.More

Flagship National Park Service RV park taking shape

A new "flagship" National Park Service campground, featuring power and water hookups and drive-in sites for recreational vehicles, is taking shape in West Virginia, at the southern end of the New River Gorge National River. The new Meadow Creek Campground, located on the shore of the New River about two miles downstream of the Sandstone Visitor Center in Summers County, is scheduled to open early next summer.More
