The APTA submitted comments to the Rural and Underserved Communities Health
Task Force to assist in creating bipartisan legislation to improve healthcare in
underserved communities. These comments regarded telehealth, the National
Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Program, elimination of prior authorization
and copayments, and removing other such barriers to nonpharmacological
interventions. These comments also included concerns about how the proposed fee
schedule cuts will affect underserved and rural communities. If you have any
questions about the above information, or how to get involved with federal advocacy
for the physical therapy profession, please reach out to Tristan Faile at tristan@vertexpt.com.

Few would argue that health care in the United States has experienced significant change over the past few years—but do those changes require a new look at practice models for physical therapists (PTs)? That's the question at the heart of an event cosponsored by APTA and Arcadia University set for the evening of January 9, 2020, 6:00 pm–9:00 pm ET.
