effect on January 1, 2021. We need you to take a few minutes and call your members
of Congress today and ask them to urge congressional leadership to include H.R. 8702,
a bill introduced by Rep. Bera (D-CA) and Rep. Bucshon (R-IN), in critical upcoming
end-of-year legislation.

The Lancet
The new WHO 2020 Guidelines on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour1 provide recommendations on the amount and types of physical activity for various age groups, pregnant and post-partum women, and people living with chronic conditions or disabilities. The 2020 WHO guidelines are built on a much larger evidence base than the 2010 guidelines,2 and include some major developments. First, evidence for additional health benefits, such as improved cognitive health, health-related quality of life, mental health, and sleep, is reported, over and above what was included in the 2010 WHO guidelines—ie, cancer, cardiorespiratory, metabolic, musculoskeletal, and functional health.

Want to treat the whole person in your future career? Address burnout now
APTA
Cura personalis, which from Latin translates to “care for the entire person,” is an established guiding principle of our profession. However, while we are taught to “treat the whole person,” many of us act as if “the whole person” stops at the physical aspects. That disconnect puts us at risk of burnout in school and leaves us unprepared to truly embrace cura personalis as PTs and PTAs.
