In this business climate, there are many advantages to a “pay-as-you-go” business model when the focus is on outcomes. Capital expenses are transformed into operating expenses, spread over time. Paying on a usage basis puts the focus on your business results rather than equipment or transactions. HP Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions are reinventing design and manufacturing. From accelerating design cycles, to printing full-color functional parts, to running efficient volume production with repeatable part quality.

Rick Lingle writes: "At a time when plastics are on the defensive, rPET is having a banner year in packaging and other markets.
If you were to pick a Plastic of the Year for 2020, what would it be?
Considering the amount of innovation and in-market traction associated with the material, my choice for PoY would be recycled polyethylene terephthalate, even though it’s only September."

Plastics recycling is failing. Globally, over 350 million metric tons of plastic are produced annually, but according to the OECD, only 14-18% of that is recycled. And now that China has stopped importing the world’s plastic waste, we’re being forced to deal with it domestically.

State Impact Pennsylvania
Early 2020 looked to be a turning point for people trying to ban single-use plastics like grocery store bags.
Eight states and hundreds of local governments had approved plastic bans, and consumer habits in many places were shifting toward reusable bags.
But in the early days of the pandemic, many bans were put on hold. As the months have passed, there’s now a push to reinstate them. So, is there evidence that single-use bags are safer than ones that get used over and over again?

When it comes to the art and science of micro molding, there are few applications that are as exacting as the manufacture of microfluidic devices. Not only is there a requirement for ultra-precise and ultra-small features that need to be manufactured repeatably, but the manufacture of microfluidic devices requires a laser-like focus on the area of design for micro molding.

The New York Times has published an article suggesting that plastic waste is, or should be, a high-priority for poor African nations, and that the best way to deal with it is by not having plastic at all.
In fact, poor nations in Africa need to use more, not less plastic, since doing so will improve people’s lives, just as plastic has improved people’s lives in developed nations for over a half-century.
