Former 'Sopranos' star creates sports-themed covers for water bottles
CBS New York
One day, Joe Gannascoli was walking around his home and took a gander at his water cooler. That’s when the entrepreneur and sports fan inside of him came together for a terrific idea. “Very simply, I looked at my water bottle in my house,” the former “The Sopranos” star said. “And I said, not that it’s ugly, but it would be a great spot to put a logo of the Giants, Yankees or the Rangers, depending on the season and what’s going on.” So Gannascoli went to the Internet to see if anybody had beaten him to the idea.

Protect mobile in-store payments from relay attacks
One of the hot mobile technologies these days is mobile in-store payments. The idea is simple and appealing — instead of carrying around credit cards, customers can pay in a store by simply holding their smartphones near payment terminals. Mobile payments got a huge boost in the United States with September's launch of Apple Pay. While mobile payments have been growing steadily in the past year, Apple's announcement is likely to legitimize the use of smartphones for in-store payments, especially in the United States. Mobile payments have already gained broad adoption in many areas of Africa and Asia, and are spreading in Europe.

The company says influences may also stem from technology, availability of new textures and effects that impact color, and even upcoming sports events that capture worldwide attention.

Thinking about a mobile website? 3 types exist, but only 1 is worthwhile
By Randall Craig
f you use the Web on a mobile device, do you ever get frustrated by a site that forces you to pinch-and-zoom to read the content? Or a mobile website that seems to hide what you think is key information — like the street address and phone number? If your organization is considering a new website, you likely already know that the site must be mobile-friendly. In developer-speak, this means that the site must be developed using responsive design — the site must be usable no matter what device is knocking at the Web server's door. No pinch-and-zoom. Unfortunately, not all responsive design is the same.
