Amcor reports record half year, says CEO

Australian packaging major Amcor has reported a near 14 percent rise in half-year profit to $308 million, boosted by savings gained from its Alcan and Ball acquisitions. The company predicts that emerging markets will play a major role in its performance for the coming six months. Amcor's managing director and CEO, Ken MacKenzie said: "The first half result represented a record underlying profit, record returns and a record interim dividend for the company." More
