It is typical to see these accidents taking up about 15 percent of the injuries sustained to worker body parts. Interestingly, many of these injuries are easily preventable. In fact, most of the incidents that are cited involved either failing to wear eye protection, or failing to select the correct type of eye protection. You can prevent a lot of incidents by conducting a hazard assessment to determine company needs.

Constantia Hueck Foils investing $12 million in South Carolina plant

Constantia Hueck Foils LLC, a flexible film and foil converter, is planning a $12 million expansion at its Blythewood, S.C., plant. Constantia will break ground on the expansion, which includes a 15,000 square-foot addition and new equipment, in April and should be finished by October. The company plans to add 15 new jobs at the facility.

Study says New York PS ban would cost $100 million annually

New York City's proposed ban on polystyrene foam packaging could cost nearly $100 million annually and hurt businesses across the state, according to a new study. The study, conducted by research firm MB Public Affairs on behalf of the American Chemistry Council, shows that such a ban could nearly double food service packaging costs — while doing little to actually reduce waste.
