Merck Animal Health gains labeling flexibility

Merck Animal Health has installed an S250 automatic labeling system from Newman Labelling Systems in its Millsboro, Del., plant. The company is using it to label poultry vaccine products in a range of glass and plastic vials, from 3 to 50 ml, at a speed of up to 250 containers per minute. The system is not only readily able to handle such variety, but also with a minimum of change parts, making it convenient as well as flexible.

Sun Capital merging packaging businesses

Private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. will merge its five plastics packaging businesses, creating what it said will be the sixth-largest plastics packaging company in the world. The merger will combine Exopack Holding Corp., Kobusch Group, Britton Group, Paragon Print & Packaging Group, and Paccor under one corporate holding company called Exopack Holdings sarl, according to a May 1 Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
