Euro Packaging bags itself a profitable future

Birmingham, U.K.-based Euro Packaging has announced a strong performance in the company's first audited results under its new management team. The accounts, which cover the period October 2009 to December 2010, show a profit of £1.4 million. The German Pro-K plastics consumer goods association showed 18 "products of the year" at Ambiente 2011. Packaging major Rexam says its Q1 performance is generally in line with its plans although weaknesses have been identified in its plastics packaging division. According to the company, plastic packaging saw good volumes and pricing in health care, especially in prescription packaging. However, in personal care good growth in the high-barrier food container business was more than offset by weakness in the home, personal care and makeup markets due to "soft volumes" and materials cost inflation. More

Much of it is written in everyday language describing the machines we work with, the defects we see and the many measures of roll quality. It is a book that most plants with a winding department would want to have.
