Report: EPS recycling increasing steadily for 20 years

According to the '2010 EPS Recycling Rate Report,' 28 percent of post-consumer and post-commercial EPS was recycled last year - an 8 percent increase over 2008. A new report released by the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers shows exponential growth in the amount of expanded polystyrene recycling since the process was created more than 20 years ago. More

European frozen ready-meal manufacturer, Cook, is using round plastic containers produced by Sonoco Plastics Ireland for its new One Pot frozen ready meals. The One Pot containers include up to 50 percent recycled food grade plastic, which Cook claims has helped the company reduce its carbon footprint by approximately 25 percent. More

For this Wisconsin-based editor, touting a dairy product from outside the state isn't easy, but there's an utterly delightful story to tell about Shaken Udder Ltd., a U.K.-based maker of "a new breed of milkshakes" now sold in 330-mL PET bottles from RPC Containers Llantrisant. Gerresheimer sees Q3 sales increase by almost 10 percent

Medical packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer has raised its revenue guidance after sales grew 9.9 percent in the third quarter. In the third quarter group sales totalled €285.1 million and net income rose 36 percent to €19.2 million. The company has consequently raised revenue guidance for the year to 7-8 percent. Adjusted ebitda was €57.1 million. More
