Public opinion mixed on retailers charging for bags, reveals survey

Nearly a quarter of consumers believe that grocery retailers charging for plastic bags is simply a money making ploy. YouGov SixthSense's ethical living report found that 24 percent of respondents subscribed to the view that it as was a scheme by supermarkets to make more money. But 32 percent of UK consumers agreed with the scheme, saying it would reduce the number of plastic bags being used. More
