Social compliance deals with "the health and human services of the workers who produce your goods," says Parker. Her job is to travel to factories and ensure that the workers making product for Kenmark are being well cared for.

Wal-Mart making great strides in reducing GHGs from global supply chain

Wal-Mart is on track to cut GHG is on track to eliminate 20 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions from its global supply chain by the end of 2015. According to a report on Environmental Leader, through its partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund, Wal-Mart has helped its suppliers reduce GHG emissions by more than 17.4 metric tons by the end of 2014, compared to the 2010 baseline.
